Well, as you all mostly know, Ive been working real hard on my Wilderness Druid, also known as my Wild Thang! Okay... Not really. But you get the point! I think. either way, Ive spent alot of time on her and have made it all the way to the Searing Heights and level 5. Even though AZGreentea made a blog similar to what Im gonna write here, Im pretty sure I thunk of it first so Im gonna write it anyway! Also, as me and him/her/it follow different rules, Ill be posting the rules for my Druid as well. So, without further ado, I present to you all! A NEW FRIGGIN MIZZABLOG! Now, siddown shuddup an enjoy!
Rules, Rules, Rules!
As I was reading AZGreenteas blog, it struck me that his way of doing it is signifigantly different than mine. In one way, his way is more lenient but in another way, more strict. Overall, my way, in my opinion, provides the most challenge. Heres my rules:
1: No XP Boosts of any kind. The whole point is to get the most out of each and every wilderness area with the XP that it already gives. The only XP bonuses that are allowed are from the Monster Manual and when you complete the Rares and Explorers. Naturally, this means XP bonus days are off limits.
2: Only buffs that are allowed are buffs you can provide yourself through potions, equipment, wands and spells. Ship buffs are no nos. They would make the explorer areas much too easy.
3: The only equipment youre allowed to use is equipment you either loot or equipment you manage to buy with plat youve earned on your Wilderness character. No having someone craft you gear or transfering gear to the character from other characters, plat included. Also, no using the DDOStore. The AH is allowed because its a means to make plat and find equipment to buy that the vendors likely wont have.
4: Some wilderness areas require a quest to be completed in order to enter. Its okay to do those quests but they have to be completed on casual to minimalize the amount of XP earned from them. The point of the Wilderness character, for me, is to do EVERY wilderness.
5: Hirelings are allowed as well as parties consisting of other players. So long as theyre not doing the most of the work and not affecting the XP output, its all good.
6: No slayer boosts. Pretty much the same as number one. Yes, children, that means that doing some areas will take time and effort. What of it?
7: No DDO Dice on the wild character.
8: Renown and Loot Bonus Days are allowed.

Each And Every Area!... Thus Far...
One of the things that Ive learned while running through each area up to Searing Heights is that each area manages to test your character in some way thats different from the last area. Ive also come to the conclusion that Turbine has some creative people making these areas and they deserve a pat on the back for making them. The problem is that they arent creative enough to make the wilderness areas matter. Most have this huge massive area to explore and stuff but only one or two quests. Most people, myself included, tend to just blitz through them and ignore everything. They can do so so much more and its really quite sad just knowing they wont. Anyways, heres my experiences through each area!
Korthos Island: Definetly the most filled out wilderness in the game, thus far in my journey. The quests that take place in the Korthos wilderness take you all over the island. Korthos is a nice and easy area to do. This is good because it allows you to become comfortable with your character. If you can finish the Korthos Slayer/Explorer/Rares and feel comfortable with the character your on, then you should be good heading into the next wilderness areas. If you dont feel comfortable with the character, chances are you wont even finish all 750 slayers opting instead to make a different character.
Cerulean Hills: The first true test of your character happens here. Cerulean Hills is a definite challenge regardless of what kind of character you build. Cerulean Hills is where you learn how you handle taking damage on your character. The Orcs here will hit you damn hard and the Quickfoots will also. You may want to get a Light Fortification item here or go buy a hireling to assist you. Its possible to do it without either as I didnt use either, but they will make it easier. Cerulean Hills is a great medium sized area thats really pretty. Sadly, it only has two quests. In my opinion, they could make two more. One involving the temple and one involving the Quickfoot. But, that aside, its still a good fun area.
The Waterworks: Like Korthos the Waterworks is about as filled out as it can be in terms of quests. Its also a nice and easy break from the pain suffered during the romp through Cerulean Hills. But it still tests you in its own way. The test you face here? Skills, Attributes and/or equipment. There are two rares that are behind rune locked doors. One is an INT rune and the other [I think] is a WIS rune. Other rares are hidden behind secret doorways. So in order to succeed here you need either a decent search or gear that boosts it and a decent WIS/INT or equipment/hireling to open the rune locked doors.
Tangleroot Gorge: Tangleroot is alot of fun. Its not quite as challenging as Cerulean Hills but it does have two spots that will gave you a bit of trouble. One is against the Trogladyte Shaman and the other is against the Orc[?] Shaman. Their spells can zap you dead in one or two hits and thats just no fun when it happens. Tangleroot is pretty easy once you figure out a route that works for you but theres still going to be a point where youre going to do more running around looking for kills than actually killing things. So I guess you can say the way Tangleroot tests you is your patience and will to see doing a wild character through. Sadly, theres only one place with any quests where you go over and over and over and over and... over. They could have done more involving the Trogladytes but they, again, opted not to.
Three Barrel Cove: This area is big. Real big. The quests here take you to various points of the area thus giving you the ability to see quite a bit of the area. My main beef is that there isnt a single damn quest involving the Saohaugin or the Pirates on the far North East[?] of the area. Along with being big, three Barrel Cove bring back the challenge that Cerulean Hills had regarding involving being hit hard. Three Barrel Cove was the first area I encountered that made me feel I needed a Cleric Hireling. The test in this area isnt simply your characters ability to take damage, its your characters ability to face off against large groups of enemies while taking loads of damage. Overall, Three Barrel Cove is still my most favorite area in the game. Why? Pirates. ARR!!! Favorite line from the area: These proud Kobolds were able to fortify this lagoon, mostly because the real pirates simply ignored them. Also, one of Geoff Hannas Gnomes can be found here! Its true!
Searing Heights: Like Three Barrel Cove, Searing Heights is HUGE! The downfall? It has one quest that is really easy to blitz to ignoring pretty much the entire damn area. Turbine most certainly could have included quests involving the Drow here. There is just so much wasted potential in this area that its the most damn saddest thing in the game that Ive encountered. That aside, the area is a definite challenge. First, you have the bit of taking loads of damage going hand in had with the large groups of enemies but with a new twist! Now your ability to resist spell effects is tested as well by Drow Clerics who love to spam their soundburst spell and stun you! Being in a constant state of stunnedness sucks. It pretty much means death. Favorite line from the area: Your soul shall be set ablaze for your intrusion!
I havent finished Searing Heights yet, but I managed to get all the explorers. Next up after Searing Heights is Sorrowdusk Isle. I do love that place. The only thing that makes me sad about Sorrowdusk is that Ogres arent in the Monster Manual and theres alot of those dudes there. Come to think of it, neither are Orcs and you encounter them before you encounter Ogres in the game! Well... unless you get the red named Ogre in Butchers.
The biggest challenge going through these areas is that Im spending the majority of my time in them under level. This is good because Im getting lots of renown for Destiny. But its bad because it hurts alot. Ive still managed to make it through each area though. Died quite a bit but still managed to do the things I wanted to.
Well, thats about it. Natalysas adventures with her loyal Wolf companion, Spazz, and her Panther Cub, Payne, will continue in a couple days. For now Ive got stuff in real life to do. Hopefully Ill be able to get onto my Artificer this weekend with Comic.

Revolving Libraries Spinning Polar Moonbase
Had myself a full day of DDO. I was so distracted by it that I actually forgot to hop over to LotRO to claim my daily Hobbit Present. Ah well. Lets get to what I did today, eh?
Orchishly Clerical In Nature
Well, today I finally got around to focusing on the level four quests while on my Half Orc Cleric, Meretelle. Started out with the last two Waterworks quests. When I finished them I did a happy dance because that meant better prices in the Harbor. Leaving only the Shan To Kor quests left to do so I can get better prices in the area I do most of my selling in: The Marketplace! But, anyways, for my reward from the guard inside the waterworks I picked a pair of gloves that would give me a +7 bonus to my Bluff skill. I picked that one for the party quest in House P where a good Intimidate or Bluff are nice things to have. Unfortunatly, I dont have a good intimidate item but Im sure Ill get one soon enough. From the Harbor Master I grabbed some greataxe or another that would allow me to rake in some plat.
Then, of course, at some point in the level four quests, one must do Proof Is In The Poison. I still think the quest should be changed from being marked as a level four to level five, but what do I know? Im just a Natalie. Went in with my level 4 Fighter hireling and went at the Quickfoots. The problem is, they hit really really hard. I take more damage from the Quickfoots in Proof than I do from any other enemies in any other level four quest. Unless, of course, Im just crazy and its all in my imagination. About 1/4 of the way in it became apparent to me that my Fighter hire had used up all his health potions and I was getting low on mana so I decided it was going to be a good idea to just get a hire from the DDOStore. So I got a Cleric hire who thankfully had Divine Vitality and I got my health and mana back up. finished the quest with a close call on almost every encounter but never died. I got incapacitated twice but thankfully the Cleric got me back up. My reward for the quest was a nice +3 Battle Halfplate.
After that I moved onto Irestone with my two hires in tow. Completed it without any issue. Was able to immediatly replace my halfplate with a +3 Battle plate. I was going to take a screenshot of it because it does look pretty cool but I forgot and ran out of time to do it so Ill make sure to do that tomorrow.
Of course, I also ran the Sharn Syndicate chain. Which is one of my most favorite quest chains in the game. Mostly because its fast. While doing the rescue quest I almost lost Grammy! Stupid old lady was being extra aggressive for some reason. Normally I can do the quest and rescue one family member at a time with no issues but this time I literally had to rescue them all at once so I was dealing with all of the syndicate thugs at the same time and hoping for the best when it came down to the family members health. In the end, grammy lived, the family was saved. I done good. Though, it now occurs to me that I forgot to talk to Mr Coin Lord guy to claim my end reward. When I finished the chain I also got to claim my first Coin Lords Favor reward. Having that extra inventory bag is really nice. In the final quest I also managed to pull a 500 Renown trophy from the bulls chest which made me happy. I got a total of three of those today.
I did the final quest for the Catacombs today and when I got to the end rewards list, I was no longer sure what I should take. Theres the Blade of Inquisition, of course. But then theres the Morningstar of the Heretic. On one hand the Longsword is really good against undead which will help during Deleras and whatever other quests I do where enemies are weak to Silver. But on the other hand the Morningstar gives a temporary 15 hitpoints on every critical hit I make. So it makes it a tough decision. So, readers, which one should I pick?
Finally, the day ended on part 2 of Shan To Kor. I was right at the end. Right at it. Then, my computer crashes. But, hey, no biggie. Ill just let it reboot and Ill start back where I was as usual. But nope! I log in and for some reason, Im dead. Normally, when this happens, I come back on and Im right where I was no harm done. But this time, I was dead. Yes. I cursed at my computer screen. Very loudly. I was angry. Considering I only had 10 min of playtime left I decided to call it a day and get off.
So, tomorrow when Im on, that quest will be where I start. From there Ill get to take level five on my Cleric and move onto the Carnival chain in House P. Now, that isnt my most favorite chain. But it certainly has my most favorite end boss in the history of ever. Also, Im hoping Ill be able to finish up Shan To Kor so that I can start getting that Marketplace discount. Since Im soloing, Im going to be skipping the Necropolis chain since it requires a partner. Sure, I could just get a couple gold seals but real people are always funner than wacky AI.
Lastly of note, I made lots and lots of plat today thanks to the +2 to loot days thats going on right now. I managed to get this sweet little +2 Longsword of something or another that Im sure will kick buttucks when I can use it. Sadly, that means waiting until level six. But, its better to wait for something good than to get nothing good at all, right? Was super excited to see what the sale would be for the week only to be disapointed by a Crafting sale. Hopefully next week therell be something I can use! Like, you know, Favored Soul or High Level Adventure Packs *wink wink* [hint hint]! 90% off should do finely! :D
Everybody Remain Comical
So, me and Comic are gonna do some quests this Saturday. Ive been thinking, but Im not too sure. Its fun going forward in quests and stuffs, but Im kinda wanting to go back and do some past quests for favor rewards. Theres nothing like more bank space or inventory space afterall. I shall see what Commie wants to do! Of course, hes likely to say 'Whatever you want to do you turd muffin!'. Thats what he always says. Its true. Yup.
Love Me Forever
There are things Id really like to see added to DDO. There are things, I think, everyone would like to see added to the game. These are the things Id like to see added to the game.
Permanent Hirelings: This has been brought up on the forums alot. Probably since before MOTU but quite a bit afterwards. Hirelings that have no timer and stay with the player forever. Obviously, the ability to implement such a thing is there, its just up to Turbine to allow it for regular hirelings.
However, Id like to see it taken a step futher. Id like to see them make a hireling that not only has no timer but one that can start at levels 1,4 or 7 and level up as the player levels up and have the ability to be equipped by the player. In the second parts case, this would mean giving them 1-2 inventory bags of their own so that the player doesnt get bogged down carrying their own equipment plus their hires. Also, it would be nice if, for mana using hires, we could choose which spells they will have equipped as well.
Naturally, Id expect such Hirelings to be in the DDOStore only and priced between 500-1kTP, but it would be worth it, in my opinion, to have an improvable ally around. Especially for people like me who pretty much solo everything. The only problem I see with it, right now, is that currently, hireling AI sucks. Bad. Its so bad sometimes that Im almost tempted at times to grab some random players for certain quests.
Tattoos: Itd add a creative layer to what we can do with our characters on creation. I dont expect it to happen very soon, if at all. The only real reason Id like to see it is because back on the MOTU load screen youd see that chick on the far left who obviously had some body art on her. Sure, theres a big difference between what gets put into game art and what gets put into the actual game, but itd still be really cool.
More Wooden Medium Armor: I tried asking about this once for the DDOMimic question thing and I think my question was misunderstood so Ill use this to clarify what I meant. One of the things with Druids is, if you want to use Druid abilities, you cant wear metal armors. Thats fine and easy enough. Theres plenty of light armors that arent made out of metal. However, Druids come with the ability, right off the boat, to wear medium armor too. the problem starts with the fact that, as far as I can tell, the only wood based medium armors in the game are high level named ones, which is just stupid. There should be wooden medium armors available all throughout the game for all levels so that people, like me, who want to wear it can.
Hair: Yup. Im brining this up again. I want more hairstyles in the game. Also, Id like to see Turbine take one of those unused housed in the Marketplace, or where ever, and turn it into a Salon of sorts. Kinda like what LotRO has but for DDO. There are a few hairstyles that could be added to the game. Like giving female characters actual mohawks or giving either male or female characters to have dredlocks. Something that would spruce up the hair department somewhat. One of my favorite things in DDO and LotRO is how much you CAN customize how the character looks. But Id like to see more to do than there currently is.
Baudrys: Come on!!! Fix it!!! PLEASE!!! You guys have absolutly no idea what not being able to run it is doing to me! I mean, everytime I scroll through my quest list and see those three grey spots on it I just endure what is quite possibly the most agonizing mental and emotional stress you could ever imagine feeling! It gives me the shakes! Ive been having nightmares at night since the closure. I keep dreaming about big boxes and all these boxes just taunting me about how I cant break them... Im sure that if that chain isnt fixed soon, Im bound for a padded cell and a straight jacket!

I had this thing about something, I forget what, that I had to do three days from yesterday that had to be eaten but you probably wouldnt know where its hidden. So, I hope you all have had a great day and hope you have many other ones that are similar in nature. Unless you had a bad day, in which case, its probably that guy over theres fault.

Human Commandos United
Good day my fellow humans!
I am here, proud among you all, to announce a joining of all Human Commando type units to hereby be called 'Human Commandos United'! Now, I know what you must be wondering. Just who and what are the 'Human Commandos'? Well, Ill tell you! We, the Human Commandos, are the defenders of the Human Race! What do we defend our fellow Humans from? From the disease of the small people of course! We defend you from those savage little mud hut dwellers day and night making sure they know we are twice what they will ever be in every way!

A Comical Time
Well, this last weekend was great! Got to do a quest chain with Mr ComicRelief! Its true! I did I did!
Well, it started out something like this: I was on my Elven Artificer Mizzaroo. Running around causing all sorts of chos, when all of a sudden, this mean mean man came online and started being all sorts of mean to me! Oh wait... That never happened. Anyways, Comic came online and of course my first question was, 'What we doing?!?!?!!?' and then he says, 'GO AWAY YOU BIG FATTY!!!'. Well actually, what he said was more like, 'Whatever you want to do' but whos really truly keeping track of who says what, right?
First we did 'The Prisoner' quest from the Vault of Night quest. We dominated it. I even managed to not get blown off the walkway! Comic cant quite claim the same. When the quest ended and we went to open the chest I managed to pull both a Lesser Guild Renown Potion and an Astral Diamond. Both things of which Ive never gotten. The Diamond, Im still not quite sure what I should do with. All I know to do is 'Save it' because thats what grumpy pants told me to do.
After we did that, it was about time we hit Threnal. This was really exciting for me because I have never done any of the quests there. Comic hasnt been to keen sounding about doing those quests before but we did them finally! It took us 2 days to complete them but we did! It was alot of fun and Im looking forward to doing more quest chains Ive never run.
Overall, there were only a total of three deaths in the whole chain. First death was my hireling. He decided he didnt want to toss out anymore heals. At all. He took a bunch of hits then *DING* out he goes. Next two deaths were Comic and his hireling in the quest before last from an Elder Beholder. Personally, I think he died on PURPOSE! Thats right Commie! You heard me right! ADMIT IT! Quick! Someone get me a bench, a hood and a bucket of water!
When we finished the chain we got our rewards. I had managed to get a good amount of XP and Renown for Destiny. We each got this little cloak thing called something worldshaper[?] or whatever. Im still not 100% sure what exactly the True Seeing bonus it gives does but Im sure Ill find out in the nearish future.
We also did this really weird but cool and fun Arena quest there. It was a blast. Mizzaroo is also now just two dots away from being able to level up to 12. Shes the first character Ive ever had to naturally level up so high.
Rich People Suck
When I want to read news and such, I tend to just quickly head on over to Yahoo and browse through the stories to see if anything catches my eye. Sometimes its a really great story. Unfortunatly though, more ofton than not, its a story that gets under my skin. In this case, there were two stories recently that bugged me a little.
Firstly, there was that whole thing about what that guy thats in charge of A&F said. Personally, I dont see why anyone would pay too much attention to what he said. Sure, what he said and the way he said it makes him a jackass. It most certainly does. However, for a guy talking about how the stores are meant only for the good looking cool kids, he is one ugly son of a bitch. Seriously. So, in the future, should he open his big ugly mouth and spout some crap about 'good looking people', just laugh and move on people.

It managed to piss me off so much to the point that the company its about is now officially the first company/corporation to ever be put on the Mizzablacklist. There are people on it, to be sure. But never have I ever been so angered by a company that Ive outright decided they will never recieve a dime from me. Ever.
Essentially, theres this home in Cincinnati that has been a home of sorts to women trying to escape from abusive homes, escape from drug addictions and escape from the life of prostitution. Its a place where they all work together to help each other clean up their lives and work on trying to make a better one for themselves and each other. The house sits on a beautiful piece of land with beautiful scenery around it which aids them in a theripudic manner.

So in the end, theyre forced to sell the house and property. In return, as a sign of "good will", his company is giving them a new "home". This new place will be in a shitty part of town next to a freeway. Which is exactly where, Im sure he believes, 'women like them' belong.
So, as I said earlier, for the first time in my life, I refuse to stay in or spend any money in any place owned by Western & Southern Executives. Id rather stay in a flea infested hotel than one owned by them.
Movies [Continued]
In my last blog I mentioned the movies I had watched in the last couple weeks. However, I forgot about two movies! Plus I watched one last night so Ill give that one a mention as well.
Sherlock Holmes 1&2. Both movies were great fun. Sherlock is a hilarious character in them with Watson having his moments as well. Of course, I cant forget Watsons poor dog who Sherlock continuously "kills". SH1: 9/10. SH2: 7/10.
Madagascar. Yes yes. I know. Another animated movie. well, guess what? I have a thing for movies with talking animals! Anyways, its a pretty funny movie. Could have been alot better though. Personally, Chris Rock annoys the hell out of me in everything he does. The Penguins were the best part of the movie in my opinion. 5/10.
New Festival & Vacation
So, coming up on the 22nd, LotRO is going to be throwing their Spring Festival which means LotRO is where Ill be at. Im really looking foward to getting yet more Cosmetic Outfits and a new horse for my Guardian to ride around on like a boss. So, I wont be on DDO at all until the Festival is over. The unfortunate thing is, Im not quite sure how much of the festival Ill be able to do. I have a vacation coming up and where Im going, internet is spotty at best so gaming is out of the question. But Im sure Ill do fine. If I manage to not get everything, well, theres always next year!

A Comical Time

The Tale Of Infinite Mana

I Love You
So, as you all know, when I play video games, I play video games. Its a pretty complex system that exists. Its been told to me that not alot of people are even capable of playing video games whilst playing video games. So, today I played TWO video games! Really! I am so amazing that not only did I play two games, I managed to do everything I wanted to do on both of them. I know! I am just damn awesome, right? RIGHT?!
Right.
So, yesterday I started out playing DDO. Did a few quests on my Half Orc Cleric then started running into trouble of the unfun sort. I got my butt end handed to me on a gold and silver gem encrusted platter. So I got a wee bit angry and quit DDO for the day opting to play LotRO instead.
When I went over to LotRO I started doing normal quests, finally, and finished up all the level 6 quests. Before completing the final one I remembered to take off my XP disabler so that Id be able to level up to 7. Spent what was left of my playtime running between Bree Land, The Shire and Erid Luin picking up all the level 7 quests and even finding the time enough to complete a few of them.
Today I went onto LotRO again. Finished up the level 7 quests and took level 8. Did a heck of alot of crafting, mostly just making Bronze Bars, Light Leathers and Rowan Planks. Not sure if I mentioned it before, but I changed the way I price the planks on the Auction House now. Before, I priced them at 1 Silver per plank. The problem was, though, that I wasnt making what felt like good profit for the effort I was putting into the collection of the wood to crafting it into planks. So now, I price it at 2 Silver per plank as it takes 2 pieces of wood to make one Plank. Even at that price, its still really affordable to lower level players, considering that a stack of 100 Rowan Planks tends to go for near and over 1 Gold. With an initial price of 200 Silver and a buyout of 400 silver, Im making a much better price selling them now.
After I did all that on LotRO I decided to head back over to DDO to see if I could finish up doing the level 3 quests. Thankfully, I didnt have too many left to do. Unfortunatly I got bogged down by two things. 1: My inventory was full to bursting due to a large amount of collectables. In my stupidity, I forgot I had this thing called a Bank which I could store them in. It pretty much took me until the end of my playtime to remember and run there to store most of them. 2: Im a Flower Sniffer type player. I dont "Zerg". Well, except for when I play Starcraft. Then I LOVE to Zerg.
As I was running around doing quests in DDO it struck me suddenly. Didnt my Half Orc have a Small Eberron Dragonshard that she posted on the Auction House a few days back? Did it not sell? Well, I ran my big ol hiney to the Auction House and took a peek at it to see if my Dragonshard was still on it, if at all. It wasnt so I checked my Inventory. Not there either. But wait! I forgot! They get stored in the red bag! So I open the red bag and there it was. So I pulled it out and posted it for an initial 5k Plat and 10k buyout. It sold within 10 minutes.
Thanks to Comic, yesterday when I logged on, I got some crafted gear with +2 attribute scores on them. he made me a +2 WIS ring, +2 CON belt, +2 CHA cloak and a +2 DEX boots. So he gets an extra special big round of applause from me for all that. Though, in the end, I suppose instead of asking for DEX boots I should have asked for boots that would increase my run speed, Im still very grateful and happy. Its nice having the bonuses on the items theyre on because if Im questing and end up finding a better boost on an item, chances are itll be the same attribute on the same type of item attached to the ones I already have. Well... Excpet maybe the ring. as far as Ive ever pulled, WIS tends to be on helms more than rings. But, itll do donkey. Itll do.
Managed to pull some really good loots, which made me happy. Mostly because it all made me a little bit richer. But of note, I managed to pull a ring from a chest! No. this was not on LotRO. So its not quite THAT ring. No, instead it was a ring of Feather Falling. Yes. I consider that to be a great item to have. Its just nice having an item that makes sure you always float safely down from scary heights. The next item on my list of "IVE GOTTA HAVE THIS!!!" is a ring, or something, that gives a constant Water Breathing effect on it. Itll make those pesky quests with swimming under water just ever so slightly nicer.
The good part of yesterday, the only really good part to be honest, was my completion of Stealthy repossesion. Why was it so good? Simple! Its a pain to run through that quest on a non sneaky character. Or at least it is in my own professional opinion. Especially at level though. But theres two trick to doing it. 1: If youre doing it at level, on a level 2 for normal, then you need an invisibility pot. Actually, you need about 10. When you enter, park your hire to the alcove on the right of the quest entrance on passive mode. Go up to the right side of the first door, open it then immediatly drink your first invisibility pot. Then just run through pulling levers and drinking pots right after and you should complete without a hitch. 2: If youre doing the quest as a level 4 its the same as above but with the addition of drinking a Haste Potion. So, I was able to complete it solo at level 2 on normal and was extremely pleased with myself.
Back to today! I managed to complete what was left of the level 3 quests in what I consider to be dramatic fashion. Why dramatic fashion? Well, you see, I had one hour of playtime left on DDO. Three quests remained for the level 3s. They were the first Shan To Kor quest, The Captives and An Explosive Situation. The last one is a quick solo quest so I wasnt too worried about that one. It was mainly the first Shan To Kor quest that had me worried I wouldnt be able to complete the quests today. Normally, that quest can take me about 40-45 minutes to complete. But I managed it in, whats for me, record time and still managed to kill every breakable along the way. Moved onto The Captives and had a first within that quest. Ive been playing DDO for three years now. Ive run The Captives alot. But not once have I ever encountered the rare Ooze in it. It had reached a point that I believed the Ooze existed only in rumor, but indeed, it is real and I killed it. Finished up with the quest then finished Explosive. Then I ran my Half Orc bootey to the Cleric Trainer and took level 4. Put my CON up to 13 and added the Nimbus of Light [or whatever its called] and Resist Energy spells to my hotbars. All this and I managed to do it all with 10 minutes to spare.
Funny thing happened in the second Waterworks quest today. As I was rescuing that guy, whats his face, he stopped moving and starting using a throwing weapon on an enemy that I couldnt see. After a while, I thought that maybe an enemy was inside a wall or something because I was getting hit but couldnt see from where. Then I looked up and right there on the ceiling was a Kobold Warrior throwing crap at me! ON THE DAMN CEILING! The good news was that I still had my eternal wand of whats it that I grabbed from the Grotto quest. So, I killed it, finished quest and moved on.
Tomorrow is Saturday! You all know what that means, right?! It means its the start of the Comical Run weekend extravaganza! Itll be the first weekend since the LotRO anniversary event that Ive gotten to play with Comic so Im excited. But not too excited because too excited might give the old man a stroke or something equally hilarious.
I Love You Not
Its always funny to me just how full of doom the LotRO and DDO forums always seem to be. Of every MMO Ive ever played and every forum for each of those MMOs, I have never seen quite so much doom and gloom than on DDO and LotROs forums. Come on people, seriously. Theres got to be a better way to catch Turbines attention than with lines like "Oh! Woe is us! Turbine added this or that to the game! Its dying! Im cancelling my sub and so is everyone else I know and Im sure many others will soon be doing such and that means no more money for Turbine which will mean no more game!" Sure, Ill complain about the funny crap Turbine pulls, but whining and "cancelling" your subscription and dooming and glooming isnt going to do anything at all.
That being said, there are somedays I do wonder about which of the two above mentioned games Turbine cares about most. There are three points here that Ive noticed about both games. One is LotRO related and the other two are DDO related.
1: There were these cool little features added to DDO and LotRO recently. The DDO Daily Dice and the LotRO Hobbit Preasents. Neither were met with alot of love by the players but the reality is, weather you like it or not, theyre here to stay. So there. Now, after the release of the DDO Daily Dice there were a few posts SOMEWHERE on the forums asking if there could be a timer added to the Daily Dice so people know when theyre next free roll is. Also some VIPs asked if it was possible to add a free Gold Roll once per week or something as an additional VIP perk. Both of these suggestions were met with complete silence by Turbine. Sortof.
Over on LotRO, they added the Hobbit Presants a few days back! With the Hobbit Presants come a timer showing how long you have to wait for your next roll + VIPs get 1 free gold roll per week. So, Turbine listened to its players in their request for those things. Just they put them in the wrong game. I dunno. Maybe theyre going to add those things to DDO in the near future. They should. Itd be damned stupid to put a feature like that in one of your games but not the other.
2: This point involves alot of speculation on my part based on information on the forums. Back last year sometime there was a post on the DDO forums where a player made a suggestion that turbine add Skill Tomes to the game. Essentially these would be tomes that would increase the level of your skills much in the same way that the Stat Tomes increase your characters attributes. The post got quite alot of replies from the players who use the forums and the answer from them seemed to be a resounding "NO!". In other words, its an item type that a good portion of people obviously didnt want or think would be a good addition to the game.
Then comes along yesterday. I was browsing the DDO forums and what do I see? Apparently a player over on Lamania got a +3 Concentration Tome. Or in other words, Turbine is thinking about adding Skill Tomes to the game. An item which alot of players said no to.
3: Quick! Somebody mail Turbine some bug spray! Alot of bug spray! Like YESTERDAY! Yeah. This had to be mentioned. Bugs. Theres a hell of a lot of them in DDO isnt there? The funny thing is, if I were to print out the known issues list over on LotRO itll take maybe 1 page of paper. For DDO, itd take what? 3? Maybe 4 or 5? Mentioning the bugs in DDO is important because they play a major part in our everyday DDO lives.
Lets start back in last spring. We got a letter to the players thing from some dunderhead or another at Turbine announcing the expansion. Included in this little letter was a promise to the players that the good folks at Turbine would start working to squash the bugs in the game. This was met with alot of happy happy joy joy from the players. I mean, finally! The bugs will be squashed! Summer came. Expansion came out. Lots of BAD happened. Some bad that happened got fixed. Some bad that happened is still around. But most importantly, the promise to start squashing bugs has not been fulfilled in the slightest. The known issues list for DDO, has it grown or shrunk in the last year? Quick answer: its grown. If it had shrunk by any noticably good amount, I probably wouldnt have this third section.
Everytime Turbine releases a new update the mentality of its player base is 'I wonder what theyre going to break THIS time'. Thats not a way you want your players to think. You want them to think 'Did you see what the next update is going to have?! IM SO EXCITED!!!'. What catches my attention the most on the forums though is the number of people who pop up saying 'We told you guys about this bug on Lamania. How did you guys not fix it before putting it on the live game?' which is met with the, seemingly, typical silence from the Turbine staff. I dont know. Maybe theyre not good at taking criticism.
In the end, the things that I consider important to know are: Why are there so many bugs in DDO? Why does every update have 3-5 new ones added to the known issues list? Does Turbine not have a talented enough Development staff needed to start working on squashing them? Most important though, will there ever be a day where we all log into DDO and play a game with little to no bugs?
Those are the three things that stand out to me in the difference between how Turbine treats DDO and LotRO. Now, no matter what happens, Im not quitting either game. I love both equally. theyre both very fun games for different reasons. But over the last few months my faith in the developers at Turbine has been shaken to the point to where Im not their biggest fan or supporter anymore. They can still get it back. They can get everyone whos in the same position as me back. They just need to get working on fixing crap that shouldnt be broken in the first place.
Love Stick Shifts. Hate Automatics.
Well, over the last couple of weeks Ive managed to watch a slew of movies that Ive just been DYING to see.
Started by watching Captain America. which was pretty good but not great. Overall Id give it a 7/10.
Next came Iron Man 1 & 2. They were both very fun and hilarious. Each get a 10/10 from me.
Thor was equally great. Especially the pet store part. Another 10/10 in my book.
Of course, having watched those, I also watched The Avengers! It was way cool and exciting. Though it was a bit too slow at times, the fast paced ending more than made up for it. 9/10. Im totally excited for number 2!!!
Wrect It Ralph. Yes. Im 22 years old and I still love animated movies. Alot. 8/10.
Rise of the Guardians. Another animated movie which was fun but lacked any originality in its plot. Which seems to be becoming more and more common these days. 6/10.
Resident Evil: Retribution. They did a superb job at making a sub par movie. Compared to the rest of the series, this one felt dumbed down. Valentine was brought back. Which would have been great if she werent based off Nina from the video game flop 'Death by Degrees' by Namco.*Then was the part at the end where there was a creature that resembled a Mutilisk from Starcraft. Overall, the movie felt alot less great than it could and should have been. So it gets a 5/10.
Taken 2. Slower than the first. Not as good as the first. Sadly, they set themselves up for a third. I dont want a third. 7/10.
Expendables 2. Just as fast and funny as the first. Gotta love a movie about nothing more or less than excessive violence. That and the snake joke. That was great. I cant wait for the third. 10/10.
Fantastic Four 2. Another case of a sequal not being as great as the original. Felt like it had a lower budget and overall felt really cheap and hastily released. 5/10.
Starship Troopers 3 & 4. Ive seen the first two lots. I love them lots. Hate on the movies all youd like but I think its a great series. Number 3 brought back Rico and number 4 was totally CG which I thought was really cool. Overall, number 4 was by far the best one in the entire series so far and Im excited to see if they release another one or two movies. ST3: 8/10. ST4: 10/10.
Brave. Yet another Disney animated movie. I really loved brave and wish that Disney had had a princess like Merida when I was younger but, never the less, its nice to see one like her now. 10/10.
Thats it for the movies Ive seen that are of note in recent memory.
*The game was such a big flop that long before game stores stopped selling PS2 games you could buy the game brand new for a whopping sum of $00.99. Seriously.

I Love You
So, as you all know, when I play video games, I play video games. Its a pretty complex system that exists. Its been told to me that not alot of people are even capable of playing video games whilst playing video games. So, today I played TWO video games! Really! I am so amazing that not only did I play two games, I managed to do everything I wanted to do on both of them. I know! I am just damn awesome, right? RIGHT?!
Right.
So, yesterday I started out playing DDO. Did a few quests on my Half Orc Cleric then started running into trouble of the unfun sort. I got my butt end handed to me on a gold and silver gem encrusted platter. So I got a wee bit angry and quit DDO for the day opting to play LotRO instead.
When I went over to LotRO I started doing normal quests, finally, and finished up all the level 6 quests. Before completing the final one I remembered to take off my XP disabler so that Id be able to level up to 7. Spent what was left of my playtime running between Bree Land, The Shire and Erid Luin picking up all the level 7 quests and even finding the time enough to complete a few of them.
Today I went onto LotRO again. Finished up the level 7 quests and took level 8. Did a heck of alot of crafting, mostly just making Bronze Bars, Light Leathers and Rowan Planks. Not sure if I mentioned it before, but I changed the way I price the planks on the Auction House now. Before, I priced them at 1 Silver per plank. The problem was, though, that I wasnt making what felt like good profit for the effort I was putting into the collection of the wood to crafting it into planks. So now, I price it at 2 Silver per plank as it takes 2 pieces of wood to make one Plank. Even at that price, its still really affordable to lower level players, considering that a stack of 100 Rowan Planks tends to go for near and over 1 Gold. With an initial price of 200 Silver and a buyout of 400 silver, Im making a much better price selling them now.
After I did all that on LotRO I decided to head back over to DDO to see if I could finish up doing the level 3 quests. Thankfully, I didnt have too many left to do. Unfortunatly I got bogged down by two things. 1: My inventory was full to bursting due to a large amount of collectables. In my stupidity, I forgot I had this thing called a Bank which I could store them in. It pretty much took me until the end of my playtime to remember and run there to store most of them. 2: Im a Flower Sniffer type player. I dont "Zerg". Well, except for when I play Starcraft. Then I LOVE to Zerg.
As I was running around doing quests in DDO it struck me suddenly. Didnt my Half Orc have a Small Eberron Dragonshard that she posted on the Auction House a few days back? Did it not sell? Well, I ran my big ol hiney to the Auction House and took a peek at it to see if my Dragonshard was still on it, if at all. It wasnt so I checked my Inventory. Not there either. But wait! I forgot! They get stored in the red bag! So I open the red bag and there it was. So I pulled it out and posted it for an initial 5k Plat and 10k buyout. It sold within 10 minutes.
Thanks to Comic, yesterday when I logged on, I got some crafted gear with +2 attribute scores on them. he made me a +2 WIS ring, +2 CON belt, +2 CHA cloak and a +2 DEX boots. So he gets an extra special big round of applause from me for all that. Though, in the end, I suppose instead of asking for DEX boots I should have asked for boots that would increase my run speed, Im still very grateful and happy. Its nice having the bonuses on the items theyre on because if Im questing and end up finding a better boost on an item, chances are itll be the same attribute on the same type of item attached to the ones I already have. Well... Excpet maybe the ring. as far as Ive ever pulled, WIS tends to be on helms more than rings. But, itll do donkey. Itll do.
Managed to pull some really good loots, which made me happy. Mostly because it all made me a little bit richer. But of note, I managed to pull a ring from a chest! No. this was not on LotRO. So its not quite THAT ring. No, instead it was a ring of Feather Falling. Yes. I consider that to be a great item to have. Its just nice having an item that makes sure you always float safely down from scary heights. The next item on my list of "IVE GOTTA HAVE THIS!!!" is a ring, or something, that gives a constant Water Breathing effect on it. Itll make those pesky quests with swimming under water just ever so slightly nicer.
The good part of yesterday, the only really good part to be honest, was my completion of Stealthy repossesion. Why was it so good? Simple! Its a pain to run through that quest on a non sneaky character. Or at least it is in my own professional opinion. Especially at level though. But theres two trick to doing it. 1: If youre doing it at level, on a level 2 for normal, then you need an invisibility pot. Actually, you need about 10. When you enter, park your hire to the alcove on the right of the quest entrance on passive mode. Go up to the right side of the first door, open it then immediatly drink your first invisibility pot. Then just run through pulling levers and drinking pots right after and you should complete without a hitch. 2: If youre doing the quest as a level 4 its the same as above but with the addition of drinking a Haste Potion. So, I was able to complete it solo at level 2 on normal and was extremely pleased with myself.
Back to today! I managed to complete what was left of the level 3 quests in what I consider to be dramatic fashion. Why dramatic fashion? Well, you see, I had one hour of playtime left on DDO. Three quests remained for the level 3s. They were the first Shan To Kor quest, The Captives and An Explosive Situation. The last one is a quick solo quest so I wasnt too worried about that one. It was mainly the first Shan To Kor quest that had me worried I wouldnt be able to complete the quests today. Normally, that quest can take me about 40-45 minutes to complete. But I managed it in, whats for me, record time and still managed to kill every breakable along the way. Moved onto The Captives and had a first within that quest. Ive been playing DDO for three years now. Ive run The Captives alot. But not once have I ever encountered the rare Ooze in it. It had reached a point that I believed the Ooze existed only in rumor, but indeed, it is real and I killed it. Finished up with the quest then finished Explosive. Then I ran my Half Orc bootey to the Cleric Trainer and took level 4. Put my CON up to 13 and added the Nimbus of Light [or whatever its called] and Resist Energy spells to my hotbars. All this and I managed to do it all with 10 minutes to spare.
Funny thing happened in the second Waterworks quest today. As I was rescuing that guy, whats his face, he stopped moving and starting using a throwing weapon on an enemy that I couldnt see. After a while, I thought that maybe an enemy was inside a wall or something because I was getting hit but couldnt see from where. Then I looked up and right there on the ceiling was a Kobold Warrior throwing crap at me! ON THE DAMN CEILING! The good news was that I still had my eternal wand of whats it that I grabbed from the Grotto quest. So, I killed it, finished quest and moved on.
Tomorrow is Saturday! You all know what that means, right?! It means its the start of the Comical Run weekend extravaganza! Itll be the first weekend since the LotRO anniversary event that Ive gotten to play with Comic so Im excited. But not too excited because too excited might give the old man a stroke or something equally hilarious.
I Love You Not
Its always funny to me just how full of doom the LotRO and DDO forums always seem to be. Of every MMO Ive ever played and every forum for each of those MMOs, I have never seen quite so much doom and gloom than on DDO and LotROs forums. Come on people, seriously. Theres got to be a better way to catch Turbines attention than with lines like "Oh! Woe is us! Turbine added this or that to the game! Its dying! Im cancelling my sub and so is everyone else I know and Im sure many others will soon be doing such and that means no more money for Turbine which will mean no more game!" Sure, Ill complain about the funny crap Turbine pulls, but whining and "cancelling" your subscription and dooming and glooming isnt going to do anything at all.
That being said, there are somedays I do wonder about which of the two above mentioned games Turbine cares about most. There are three points here that Ive noticed about both games. One is LotRO related and the other two are DDO related.
1: There were these cool little features added to DDO and LotRO recently. The DDO Daily Dice and the LotRO Hobbit Preasents. Neither were met with alot of love by the players but the reality is, weather you like it or not, theyre here to stay. So there. Now, after the release of the DDO Daily Dice there were a few posts SOMEWHERE on the forums asking if there could be a timer added to the Daily Dice so people know when theyre next free roll is. Also some VIPs asked if it was possible to add a free Gold Roll once per week or something as an additional VIP perk. Both of these suggestions were met with complete silence by Turbine. Sortof.
Over on LotRO, they added the Hobbit Presants a few days back! With the Hobbit Presants come a timer showing how long you have to wait for your next roll + VIPs get 1 free gold roll per week. So, Turbine listened to its players in their request for those things. Just they put them in the wrong game. I dunno. Maybe theyre going to add those things to DDO in the near future. They should. Itd be damned stupid to put a feature like that in one of your games but not the other.
2: This point involves alot of speculation on my part based on information on the forums. Back last year sometime there was a post on the DDO forums where a player made a suggestion that turbine add Skill Tomes to the game. Essentially these would be tomes that would increase the level of your skills much in the same way that the Stat Tomes increase your characters attributes. The post got quite alot of replies from the players who use the forums and the answer from them seemed to be a resounding "NO!". In other words, its an item type that a good portion of people obviously didnt want or think would be a good addition to the game.
Then comes along yesterday. I was browsing the DDO forums and what do I see? Apparently a player over on Lamania got a +3 Concentration Tome. Or in other words, Turbine is thinking about adding Skill Tomes to the game. An item which alot of players said no to.
3: Quick! Somebody mail Turbine some bug spray! Alot of bug spray! Like YESTERDAY! Yeah. This had to be mentioned. Bugs. Theres a hell of a lot of them in DDO isnt there? The funny thing is, if I were to print out the known issues list over on LotRO itll take maybe 1 page of paper. For DDO, itd take what? 3? Maybe 4 or 5? Mentioning the bugs in DDO is important because they play a major part in our everyday DDO lives.
Lets start back in last spring. We got a letter to the players thing from some dunderhead or another at Turbine announcing the expansion. Included in this little letter was a promise to the players that the good folks at Turbine would start working to squash the bugs in the game. This was met with alot of happy happy joy joy from the players. I mean, finally! The bugs will be squashed! Summer came. Expansion came out. Lots of BAD happened. Some bad that happened got fixed. Some bad that happened is still around. But most importantly, the promise to start squashing bugs has not been fulfilled in the slightest. The known issues list for DDO, has it grown or shrunk in the last year? Quick answer: its grown. If it had shrunk by any noticably good amount, I probably wouldnt have this third section.
Everytime Turbine releases a new update the mentality of its player base is 'I wonder what theyre going to break THIS time'. Thats not a way you want your players to think. You want them to think 'Did you see what the next update is going to have?! IM SO EXCITED!!!'. What catches my attention the most on the forums though is the number of people who pop up saying 'We told you guys about this bug on Lamania. How did you guys not fix it before putting it on the live game?' which is met with the, seemingly, typical silence from the Turbine staff. I dont know. Maybe theyre not good at taking criticism.
In the end, the things that I consider important to know are: Why are there so many bugs in DDO? Why does every update have 3-5 new ones added to the known issues list? Does Turbine not have a talented enough Development staff needed to start working on squashing them? Most important though, will there ever be a day where we all log into DDO and play a game with little to no bugs?
Those are the three things that stand out to me in the difference between how Turbine treats DDO and LotRO. Now, no matter what happens, Im not quitting either game. I love both equally. theyre both very fun games for different reasons. But over the last few months my faith in the developers at Turbine has been shaken to the point to where Im not their biggest fan or supporter anymore. They can still get it back. They can get everyone whos in the same position as me back. They just need to get working on fixing crap that shouldnt be broken in the first place.

Well, over the last couple of weeks Ive managed to watch a slew of movies that Ive just been DYING to see.
Started by watching Captain America. which was pretty good but not great. Overall Id give it a 7/10.
Next came Iron Man 1 & 2. They were both very fun and hilarious. Each get a 10/10 from me.
Thor was equally great. Especially the pet store part. Another 10/10 in my book.
Of course, having watched those, I also watched The Avengers! It was way cool and exciting. Though it was a bit too slow at times, the fast paced ending more than made up for it. 9/10. Im totally excited for number 2!!!

Because Im Just That Awesome
Its true. I am. I mean, really. Who could possibly hope to be more awesome than me? No one! Thats who! So, without further ado, I give you the next Mizzablog! the most awesome blog on the web! YEAH!
Oh DDO, How Fun Thou Art
Well, had a short week on DDO but Im planning on making up for it next week. Started out on Sarlona but did something in a quest that ended with me feeling like a dummy head so I headed off. Got back on the next day though and did all but one of the level one quests on Elite. I get the feeling that I wont be able to disable traps beyond level 5 quests though. Let alone find hidden doors without a detect door item or two. But so far, even with those things, Rayneblood is a really fun character. The thing that shocks me the most is that she has managed to not die. Yet. Its shocking because she wares only the Starter Rags, so its nice she hasnt gone all death happy on me. Yet.
After all that, It was the weekend, which means time to do Comical runs! This weekend was another one cut short. I could only play one day and we only did two quests because I had to go to bed. First we tried Faithful Departed again. Failed. Again. To be honest, I dont think I want to run it again. At all. In my world, the idea that you can attack and kill the very things youre trying to protect is just dumb and an overly big pain in the bahookey. Maybe Ill change my mind and run it again in the distant future, but for the time being, no. Im done with it.
After that we did Caverns of Korro(something). Wasnt quite sure if it was the quest I was thinking of or not, but when we entered... IT WAS! Its a quest that became a quick thorn in my side early on in my playing of DDO. Seriously. It was epicly long, on a single run I lost three of my greatswords, I lost a shield and a piece of armor and then some enemy hit me with a bolt of lightning and I died in one shot. But this time, with Comic, we pulled off a win. Though, I did get lost once. Maybe twice. Yeah twice.
Also, with the Daily Dice, on Mizzaroo(Cannith Artificer) her last four rolls shes gotten four XP pots. Rayneblood got a +2 Upgrade Tome of CON which I threw away because it was worthless. Why? Because she already had a +2 CON tome just waiting to be used! Its true its true! But it was still a good win. That win, of course, was the Silver Jackpot. So, who knows. Maybe she, or any other of my characters will get lucky in the future and get a tome they can actually use! YEAH! Outside of those big wins, Ive mostly gotten a few thousand plat, some Astral Shards, alot of crafting essences, some collectables and a couple slayer pots. It would be nice to win some renown pots as well for Orien, Sarlona and Cannith.
On a side note, regarding the upcoming expansion, while Im still not thrilled about it my previous thoughts have had a slight alteration after some thinking. Its still my belief that another soon to be (expensive(yes, expensive. If you dont think itll be as expensive as the last, then your heads in the wrong place.)) expansion is a money grab by Turbine. But after some additional thought, I no longer believe its motivated by greed. Instead I think its more motivated by the need to prove to WB that DDO is a profitable game. If they cant prove that, then bye bye DDO.
This thought came to me for a couple reasons. For starters, theres the fact that WB didnt get Turbine because of or for DDO. They got Turbine for LotRO. Which means they have no real reason to give a damn about DDO. At all. Secondly, and maybe this is stretching a little bit, I keep seeing stuff about WB losing bunches of moolahs on other stuff. Generally, when a company starts taking hits in areas within it, all parts of it will feel the pressure. So maybe its come time for Turbine to prove that DDO can make a decent amount of money and hope that it doesnt go buh bye.
A funny thing, I read, first on Twitter, about the Baudry chain being closed(I dont know if its back yet). This caused me to be confused. After talking with Blue a bit, he suggested that maybe there was an exploit discovered in the quest. While not a bad thought, I dont think thats true. I mean, the quest chain is just a 'Protect the big box!' 'Smash crates!' 'Kill a few enemies and recover stolen goods!' chain. I honestly cant imagine what there is to exploit in there. But if hes right, Im shocked. Really.
Oh Death, How Lame Thou Art
As Im sure everyone knows, I play Turbines other game LotRO. Well, I was playing on my runekeeper having a good time when all of a sudden my stupid stupid computer crashed. Why? I dunno. Because its stupid. Well, I go back onto LotRO and see that the game decided to count my sudden departure as a death. My initial reaction was to start cursing at my computer and the game. Its not like I was in combat or anything. Wounded from combat? Yes. But in combat? No. It aggravated me enough to slap my Runekeeper in the face and make a Guardian.
So, I made myself a Human Guardian but with a slight twist. See, there was a 50% off sale for XP Disablers. So, I used my saved up TP and got one. Am I happy to have one? Yes. Yes I am. However, even at 50% off the price for them is a damn ripoff. For the price they sell them atwhen theyre not on sale, they might as well allow you to have an option to enable/disable XP for your characters on that server. Or better yet, they could double the price and make it an account wide option! Hey, Turbine loves money, right? So far, its working out. I havent leveled up from all my kills and crafting and I havent died, or suffered another computer crash. So, All good! YUP!
Oh Phone, How Distracting Thou Art
To be honest, I didnt get alot of playtime this week on DDO or LotRO for one simple reason: my phone!
You see, I love to play games. Alot. Playing games on my phone can be alot of fun. Sure, there isnt alot of truly fun "Free" Apps, but I still manage to find ones to distract me for a time.
My current distractions are Marvel: War of Heros. It drags me away from games due to the fact that my mission and battle energy all recharge at a fast rate. With events on, this means I can do oh so much more and so thats exactly what I do! Last is NFL Matchups. I like football. I think its fun. So, playing an NFL app is great fun to me. Even if it is just a very basic game. Like with WoH, both mission(or tour in this case) and PvP energy recharge at a good rate. Only difference is, they never increase from 10 tour/3 PvP. Also, they both have events on. I loooove events. they are the best.
To be completly honest though, if there was ever a Soccer app that was free and fun like the NFL one, Id probably forget about every other game on earth. Seriously. I would. No joke. Make an MMA one and Id likely forget the world existed! True story...

Because she already had a +2 CON tome just waiting to be used! Its true its true! But it was still a good win. That win, of course, was the Silver Jackpot. So, who knows. Maybe she, or any other of my characters will get lucky in the future and get a tome they can actually use! YEAH! Outside of those big wins, Ive mostly gotten a few thousand plat, some Astral Shards, alot of crafting essences, some collectables and a couple slayer pots. It would be nice to win some renown pots as well for Orien, Sarlona and Cannith.
On a side note, regarding the upcoming expansion, while Im still not thrilled about it my previous thoughts have had a slight alteration after some thinking. Its still my belief that another soon to be (expensive(yes, expensive. If you dont think itll be as expensive as the last, then your heads in the wrong place.)) expansion is a money grab by Turbine. But after some additional thought, I no longer believe its motivated by greed. Instead I think its more motivated by the need to prove to WB that DDO is a profitable game. If they cant prove that, then bye bye DDO.
This thought came to me for a couple reasons. For starters, theres the fact that WB didnt get Turbine because of or for DDO. They got Turbine for LotRO. Which means they have no real reason to give a damn about DDO. At all. Secondly, and maybe this is stretching a little bit, I keep seeing stuff about WB losing bunches of moolahs on other stuff. Generally, when a company starts taking hits in areas within it, all parts of it will feel the pressure. So maybe its come time for Turbine to prove that DDO can make a decent amount of money and hope that it doesnt go buh bye.
A funny thing, I read, first on Twitter, about the Baudry chain being closed(I dont know if its back yet). This caused me to be confused. After talking with Blue a bit, he suggested that maybe there was an exploit discovered in the quest. While not a bad thought, I dont think thats true. I mean, the quest chain is just a 'Protect the big box!' 'Smash crates!' 'Kill a few enemies and recover stolen goods!' chain. I honestly cant imagine what there is to exploit in there. But if hes right, Im shocked. Really.
Oh Death, How Lame Thou Art
As Im sure everyone knows, I play Turbines other game LotRO. Well, I was playing on my runekeeper having a good time when all of a sudden my stupid stupid computer crashed. Why? I dunno. Because its stupid. Well, I go back onto LotRO and see that the game decided to count my sudden departure as a death. My initial reaction was to start cursing at my computer and the game. Its not like I was in combat or anything. Wounded from combat? Yes. But in combat? No. It aggravated me enough to slap my Runekeeper in the face and make a Guardian.
So, I made myself a Human Guardian but with a slight twist. See, there was a 50% off sale for XP Disablers. So, I used my saved up TP and got one. Am I happy to have one? Yes. Yes I am. However, even at 50% off the price for them is a damn ripoff. For the price they sell them atwhen theyre not on sale, they might as well allow you to have an option to enable/disable XP for your characters on that server. Or better yet, they could double the price and make it an account wide option! Hey, Turbine loves money, right? So far, its working out. I havent leveled up from all my kills and crafting and I havent died, or suffered another computer crash. So, All good! YUP!
Oh Phone, How Distracting Thou Art
To be honest, I didnt get alot of playtime this week on DDO or LotRO for one simple reason: my phone!
You see, I love to play games. Alot. Playing games on my phone can be alot of fun. Sure, there isnt alot of truly fun "Free" Apps, but I still manage to find ones to distract me for a time.
My current distractions are Marvel: War of Heros. It drags me away from games due to the fact that my mission and battle energy all recharge at a fast rate. With events on, this means I can do oh so much more and so thats exactly what I do! Last is NFL Matchups. I like football. I think its fun. So, playing an NFL app is great fun to me. Even if it is just a very basic game. Like with WoH, both mission(or tour in this case) and PvP energy recharge at a good rate. Only difference is, they never increase from 10 tour/3 PvP. Also, they both have events on. I loooove events. they are the best.
To be completly honest though, if there was ever a Soccer app that was free and fun like the NFL one, Id probably forget about every other game on earth. Seriously. I would. No joke. Make an MMA one and Id likely forget the world existed! True story...

My Final Farewell To MyDDO
Due to popular demand, I will not be retiring my blog. However, this will be the first blog hosted on DDOGamer(I hope) and the final blog I post on MyDDO. When(if) this blog gets posted on DDOGamer, Ive made a special banner thing for what is going to be over each blogs paragraph. So, please at least look at it once and tell me if you like it. I worked kinda hard on it. Kinda.
Of Comics
So, as Im sure many thousand of you read, Comic made a well thought out, well written farewell blog on MyDDO. It literally sums up the general DDO blogging communities thoughts and feelings on MyDDO being shut down with no replacement in sight. Lucky for all of us, while Turbine "looks for alternatives", two people have stepped up to do something about it, Evennote and Geoff Hanna. But thats a different topic.
This is in particular about his farewells at the end of the blog. I mean, did you see what he said about me? Did you? I mean, *really* Comic? Im crazy? I have to say, I thought you knew me better than that. I mean, I am NOT crazy. Im friggin INSANE!! Get it right man! Seriously! INSANE!
One Little Girl, Two Big Axes
So, on Friday, I started a new character project. This time based off an already existant build. She is going to be based off of Mr. Geoff Hannas Knicker Tam character. My only problem, that I can see, is that Im not much of a crafter. So, its gonna be a long time before she can have starter rags that are even remotley nice, let alone the dual weilded Dwarven Axes.
Shes managed to avoid death, thus far. She has taken some nasty hits though. Doesnt do alot of damage, yet, but Im hoping that once she gets Power Attack that itll go up by some large amount.
Right at the moment, shes sitting at level three(2 Rogue, 1 Barbarian). Has taken the Two Weapon Fighting and Exotic Weapons: Dwarven War Axe. Since I only had one rage enhancement I could pick, I put the rest of the points into Rogueish ones. The Rogue Skill Boost, Disable Traps, Search, Acid Resist and I think Trap Lore. A few others too. But for now she only has the +1 to will while in rage and Barbarian Damage Boost I.
On Friday I hit Stealthy Repossesion. She did pretty good. Felt robbed of some XP at the end though. I grabbed the eye, my hire was still alive but in the early negatives. But for some reason the XP log said that they were dead, so I lost out on some XP which made me just ever so slightly angry. But, I won. Got the Red Name Kobold Shaman. Got my loots and was happy. Also managed to get Flower Sniffers up to level 7.

Of Elder Scrolls
Well, as most of you know, I have neither a high end computer nor a 360 or PS3. So alot of my games are ever so slightly... old. One of them just so happens to be Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind GOTY. It is definetly one of my most favorite games. Big, long, big, lots of fun, big, has Smurfs, big, has a place with snow and have I mentioned its big?
Recently I decided to take the game up again. For the most part I like to just pick one of the pre made classes. This time though I decided to make up my own customized class:

So, before I end this blog I have a few questions for all you readers of mine out there:
1: The format Ive used for my last few blogs where I seperate everything into catagories, do you like that or should I go back to not doing that?
2: Hypothetical situation: You log onto DDO and see that all your characters attributes, health, mana, saves, armor class, dodge and skills are maxed. You have every Feat and Enhancement available. This will only last one day and Turbine will never find out. Do you take advantage of the situation or bug report it? (Ill post my answer next blog)
3: Im thinking about starting a seperate blog. This particular blog would essentially be Mizzaposters. the point would be me taking various things and turning them into, what Id view to be, funny posters. Would anyone like to see such a thing?

The Blog That Was Written Has Been Written
So, I know you all have just missed me oh so much! Well, not to worry! Ive missed all of you as well! So, to prove it, Im here, now, to write for you all yet another blog born from boredom. Got some (not so) interesting stuff coming in this blog, so keep on reading! DAMMIT!
Of Mizzing Outfits
Well, as everyone knows, on DDO alot of outfits went missing. Okay, more like every outfit on every character that logged onto DDO. Good times, right? Well, Im proud to say that when the problem popped up, I was the first person to post about it on the forums! Yay me! Some time later, Turbine goes out and says that they have begun the process of returning outfits to players. Some more time passes, people are all over talking about how theyre recieving outfits. Im still not. Some more time passes, still no outfits in my mailbox. So, I go onto twitter to whine about it(I really wanted my outfit back) and learn from Cordovan that the giving back outfits thing was finished and that I should submit a ticket.
This sounded familiar. Remember that blog post about my TP not being given to me over on LotRO when they said it was completed? Yeah. They passed over me not once, BUT TWICE! At least on LotRO they gave me my points though, so on that issue, I forgave them and put it behind me.
So today I log onto DDO instead of LotRO to do as Cordovan said and submit a ticket. I sit an hour then I get the exclamation point and the thing that says my ticket has been updated! I check the chat box, no green letters. I check my character bar thing, no mail. So, knowing what I was gonna see, I open my tickets and see that its been closed. Not even a 'Im not going to help you'. So, I grumble. I open a second ticket(this was an important issue for me) and its closed within 10 minutes. Again, not even a reply. So, I open a THIRD damn ticket. After another hour it actually gets replied to! My spirits soared high! I was gonna get my outfit back! So excited I was!
Me and the person start talking. Long story short, in the end I got NO outfit returned. Not getting it back wasnt the worst part though. The worst part was them trying to pin the blame on me by trying to claim that I 'Must have missed the mail'. That pissed me off because I had already told them that every day since they started handing out outfits Id been logging on, so theres no way in hell I could have missed that mail. So pretty much, I dont get my outfit back and its my fault that I "missed" a mail I never recieved. OH JOY!
Now, I dont want anyone to get me wrong on something. I love DDO. I love LotRO. I think Turbine has done a wonderful job thus far on both games. I can honestly say that I see myself playing both games for a very long time. However, Ive now had more negative experiences submiting tickets than positive. Maybe they dont look to hard for quality GMs. Maybe the GMs dont get paid enough to really care. Regardless what the problem is, Im now of the feeling that Turbine needs to do something about the crop of GMs they have before I start laughing whenever someone tells me to submit a ticket for a problem Im having.
Of Living Comics
Moving on from that, this last weekend, as I do most weekends, I ran with Comic for what I believe was the first time in a month. And I gotta say, even though we ran only two and a half quests, it was alot of fun.
For those of you who read his (rare) blogs, you already know which quest we ran the first day. For those who dont, we ran that one Necro 2 quest. I forget what its called. Whatever its called, we ran it and we won it. With shocking ease. The first time we ran it, it was both painful and slow. Then the worst thing imaginable happened! Comic DIED! See, this wouldnt have worried me too much if it wasnt for the fact that both our Cleric hirelings were pretty much out of mana, I was surrounded by enemies, enemies were respawning and I was in panic mode. well, he(or more like his ghost) leads me back to the shrines. Somehow we made it. Well, *I* made it since I was the only one standing(besides the hirelings). We extinguish the last fire. Lead the mummy to the light room place and all hell broke loose. We and our hires had about 2-3 deaths each in that room. In the end, we couldnt do it. We retreated out tried(and failed) another Necro 2 quest then I went to bed.
However, Comic(as he pointed out) had taken level 9. Now, I dont know if this is what truly helped or not. But regardless, running through the quest was a breeze. No deaths. The damn mummy died like a good boy(or girl(or creature)). We won! What I do know for certain though is that the Heavy Repeater, which was made possible by both Shinny and Comic(thank you both very much) helped quite a bit. I was doin LOTSA damage to the undeads!
After we had finished out, I alerted Comic to the fact I was so tired I was about to pass out at my computer. So we called it a day and I crawled under my desk and napped. It was a good nap.
On Sunday, we were back in Necro 2 to finish up the lvl 8s of it. Last was the quest where he had managed to get us TRAPPED one day long time ago(glares at Comic). This time around though, we managed to make it through without getting trapped. As usual, Comic character, Timp, almost died. I mean, I thought it was the end. The door in front of us opened. Comic ran through. It slammed shut behind him cutting off me and both our hirelings. He was alone. And in combat! His health started to rapidly drop. I was completly helpless. Then its down to -5 and Im just waiting for the ding when his hire teleports to the other side of the door, heals him then they, together, lay to waste to whatever enemies were there. I was just SO happy!
We finished Sunday with a bummer of a failure in Faithfully Departed. Ive gotta say, in video games, theres no bigger disapointment than reaching that final room in a quest and suddenly having it end in failure. But we went in, took our best shot and next time, we'll be more careful in trying to preserve the hostile mummies. To be honest, I think I can say I very well might have been at fault for at least two of them dying. With the enemies all going in circles with each other, its real hard to get a good clean shot at the ones you want to kill and not the ones you DONT want to kill. But Ill do better next time!
One of the other things that happened was I finally took level 10 on Mizzaroo, my Elven Artificer on Cannith(who has been doing the Comical runs). She managed to get her banked XP maxed so I saw no point in holding off leveling up any longer and asked Comic if he was cool with me doing so (he was) and did it.
Lord Of The Runes
As you all may remember from one of my last two blogs (I forget which), I got a bunch of LotRO quest packs. Well, after they gave me my 250 TP, I managed to get one more: Forochel. To be honest, of the quest packs I bought, Im most excited about when I finally reach Misty Mountains. the reason? The screenshot has SNOW! I know this is gonna sound weird, but I LOVE snow. When it happens in video games, I become an excited little girl. You think thats crazy? You should have seen my reaction to the Smurfs on Solsthiem Island in Elderscrolls 3! Not only was the whole island snowy, it had friggin Smurfs! Evil Smurfs, but SMURFS!!!
Of note, I went through my characters and retired every single one of them. Headed onto Crickhollow and made a brand new Rune Keeper and decided Im going to focus solely on him. So far, hes doing pretty dang good. I think in the long run, Im going to have him use the lightning spells as they seem to do alot better than the fire spells in terms of damage. Oh! Hes a Dwarf. I know people keep saying 'If you make a Rune Keeper, make sure to make him/her an Elf!'. Could be why I made him a Dwarf.

Now, as a Rune Keeper, youd expect him to see things that are strange and unexplainable. However, two things have happened recently that scared the crap out of him.

To be honest, the massive tower scared him the most. I mean, honestly! Theres no telling how dangerous that going under that thing would have been! Though, to be completly honest, I was hoping some Hobbit would go under it just so I could see what happened.
Overall, as much as I may dislike playing non melees in most games, Turbine makes playing casters easy in LotRO so they have my thanks for that. Hes alot of fun to play on. And even though hes quite squishy, hes only had one close call thus far in his 18 levels. If I can keep those numbers down, he'll be able to hit lvl 20 with no deaths! Then I can get the final no death title for him. I had him finish up Erid Luin today and starting in a couple days, he'll begin to work on the Shire quests. Before anyone asks, the answer is: YES! I did name his horse 'MyLittlePony'. Sadly the answer to the next question is: NO! They do not have pink horse dye in the LotRO store.
Cyberpunk, TV Shows And Book To Screen Oh My!
Now, something not alot of people know about me is when I find something new that I like, I go out of my way to discover if there are anymore similar things that I like. Sometimes it turns out that that one thing is going to be quite lonely in my world. Other times I end up stumbling onto something amazing. In this case, I am talking about the Cyberpunk genre of movies.
How I stumbled upon it was quite simple. I was on YouTube looking up songs and found a fan made video for one. He, or she, had made an amazing video for the song featuring clips from a movie. The clips managed to gain my curiosity in the movie enough to where I went out of my way to immediatly look up the movie. The movie was called 'Immortal'. And it was quite a good movie. It had its flaws, but it was still good enough to where I became curious about the genre. I tried, and failed, to find a good copy of 'Natural City'. So, here I ask, if anyone knows of any good movies in the genre, please let me know! Also, Id like to say to all curious people out there: If you ever watch Immortal, read up everything you can about it first because otherwise youll find yourself lost real easily.
For TV Shows, Ive been bouncing around between three shows like a crazy girl with serious ADD issues. The shows are the original Star Trek series, Burn Notice and Its Always Sunny In Philidelphia. I love each and every one of them. Theyre great fun. Even the original Star Trek in all its cheesyness. Yes, I know, for its time that wasnt cheesy. But Im not watching it from its time, now am I? To be honest, I only added the bit about TV shows so I could make the title of this section the way I did. Its true.
SKIP THIS NEXT SECTION IF YOU DONT WANT SPOILERS REGARDING THE HUNGER GAMES
As for book to screen, I recently saw the Hunger Games movie. I was thouroughly impressed. Its easily the single best book to screen adaption I have ever seen. The directer did quite a good job of sticking to the book. There were, however, some things that bothered me. The music scenes. They took away from the story and kinda rushed the movie along in my opinion. The Tracker Jackers were nothing but normal, digital, bees. They took out, what I felt was, an important character and moment in regards to how Katniss recieves her Mocking Jay pin. Speaking of Mocking Jays, somehow, Katniss didnt seem to know what a Mocking Jay was until Rue told her and even after that she still didnt seem to understand what they symbolized. On the train ride back to district 12, the animosity that formed between Katniss and Peeta wasnt shown. The genetically enhanced dogs in the arena lacked the traits, namely the eyes, of the deceased combatants. There are a few other things, but the idea is, they did great, they did. they just didnt do perfect. At least it was better than the first season of Game of Thrones!
Of Easters Past
In case youre unaware or are so anti religion that you refuse to enjoy a holiday, ITS ALMOST EASTER!!! During holidays, for me at least, I tend to find myself thinking back on past ones and the stuff that happened on them. One particular Easter, when I was 7, my brothers decided to go out hunting and I tagged along with them. The trip went something like this[Its all true, I swear]:
Mike: Son of a bitch! Its the Easter Bunny!!!
*BANG!*
Joe: Holy shit! You killed him!
Me: You killed the Easter Bunny?
Mike: Youre damn right I did. The hoppity little bastard was trespassing!
Me: ... *pouty face* Does that mean we get no candy and baskets?
Joe: *bursts out laughing*
Mike: *laughing* Nah kiddo. Youll still get your candy and basket. You see, he was running away from our house and going to the neighbors house. So its those lil fuckers who wont be getting anything this year. Or next. Or ever.
Me: Oh okay! *big smile*

Joe: We're back! And we brought dinner!
Mom: *from kitchen* What did you guys get?
Joe: Mike shot the Easter Bunny. We thought itd make a great addition to dinner!

Running Like Lightning: A False Story
Id like to start by mentioning that the blog title is 100% unique and was most certainly not stolen, borrowed or inspired by another blogs title that may or may not exist. That being said, Ive entered another day bored as crackers and so I'm going to pester everybody with yet another blog that I'm going to write. Well, more like type, but who's paying attention? Right? Right! To the bloggy!
Mizza Recon
Well, recently, I was just SO bored. I was sitting on my bum wondering just what I should do. So I started scanning my console games and started looking for one to play. Decided to pass up playing the ones I play lots and lots and look for one I haven't played in an age. It turns out I haven't played many of my shooters for a while. The one I chose to play was Ghost Recon(Ghost Recon, Island Thunder, Ghost Recon 2, Summit Strike and Advanced Warfighter). Immediately the first thing that came to me was, 'Why haven't I been playing this MORE?'. Its a really fun game and Ive found it hard to put down again.
The other game was Sniper Elite. There's a game I'm glad I bought. Its probably my favorite WWII shooter. Even better than Call of Duty and Medal of Honor. At least for me. Its a pretty good blend of arcade(ish) type play and realism. The arcadeishness comes from being rewarded with "points" for achieving certain types of kills. Then at the end of each level you see your total points earned which includes any minus points earned. So far the best Ive ever earned was a one shot five kill tank kill. It was a total accident but was awesome. The realism comes with making your shots. You have to account for heart rate, breathing, position(standing, kneeling or prone), gravity and wind. you can turn all those off, sure. But you wont net any points at the end of the level! Nope. So, for me, its an amazingly fun game.
Next was Doom 3 and its expansion Resurrection of Evil. I love Doom. Hate the movie. But love the games. I always find myself falling in love with the darkness of it. Yes. I'm one of those people who jumps every time an enemy just pops out from behind a corner. Or teleports in front of me. I always seem to play it at night when I'm tired though, so I suppose its not that surprising that I get a little jumpy. Hehe.
I have plenty of other games as well. Its just that those are on my current rotation until I get bored of them. Which could be a while.
Mizzalings
So, I was playing DDO yesterday. Had an alright day. Started out on my Monk Vampyrica then switched over to my Rogue Jasmene. I had a lot of fun with her until I reached Butchers Path. My fun ceased due to my stupid hireling being, well, stupid. I went in, everything was going fine. There was what I originally thought was a small annoyance turned out to be something that got me killed. Twice. Every time Id stop, he'd stop. When Id start moving again, he wouldn't budge unless I hit the button that makes him return to me. See, when I enter combat, the only thing I think to do is hold the attack button down and smack the enemy to death. Not, 'I gotta call my hireling!'. It was when I got the red named Ogre that my hireling truly failed me. See, Ogres hit hard. real hard. When you're a level two Rogue, its a lot worse. My hireling was standing maybe 6(ish) feet from me. Just standing there. I took three hits and was down. THEN my hire comes over and finishes the Ogre. Didn't matter. I died.
My sister said something recently that rang true to me, 'Nothing brings out my foul mouth quite like a video game.'. It is so true.
The Mizzatough Challenge
After my Hireling issues, I started thinking about just how much I hate them. The result: I really, really hate them. Now, I'm no programmer, but I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that making a hired companion AI is not an easy task. My reason for thinking this? Simple! In all the games Ive played where you can have a follower, not once has its AI impressed me. they all always find some way to completely mess things up. Or die. A lot. Exceptions to this are, of course, follower based games where you can control them anytime you want(Final Fantasy or KotOR for example).
After my problem on DDO, I came up with a challenge. One name for it is "The Mizzatough Challenge". I like that name because it uses part of my online name. I'm special like that. But really I think of it more like "The True Heroic Challenge". Essentially, the challenge involves trying to make it as far as possible in DDO without using hirelings or other players. A completely solo play through the world of DDO. The idea of this challenge didn't just come from my loathing of Hirelings. It also stemmed from the idea that a true hero would be capable of making it through these places by themselves, no help. There's that and the fact I love to think up really difficult challenges for myself.

Yesterday, I learned from a helpful Twitter user that One of the LotRO sales going on this week is 25% off Quest Packs. This made me giddy. I was hoping Id be able to get the Warden class, but more quests is more quests, so I'm not gonna complain. Managed to get four packs: North Downs, Trollshaws, Misty Mountains and Evendim. I would have been able to get a fifth pack if Turbine had given me the 250 TP they promised, but, meh. Starting Monday I'm going to hit LotRO and try getting the points as fast as a Mizzaroo possibly can. If I cant get them, then there's always next sale.
Normally, I wouldn't complain about the 250 TP not being there. Or about anything Turbine does, really. I always try to stay upbeat about things. What makes this so different though is that they said all Premium/VIP players who had played the game within 30 days of the really long downtime would be rewarded the TP. That's fine and great! I was all excited, they go and say they're starting to credit accounts the TP and I get even more excited. Then came the tweet: We're happy to announce that the 250 Turbine Point grant for VIP and Premium players has been completed. And that's when I logged into LotRO and realized that they somehow missed me. As it turns out, I'm not the only one they missed. And that's where I get angry. When a company says its finished doing something when obviously they didn't finish, it makes me wanna smack someone. There's not even an admittance on their part for missing people. Just a 'file a ticket with account support if you feel you were missed.'. So, Ive filed 6 or 8 tickets and will just sit and be as patient as I can until I get my points. Problem is, my brothers didn't really raise me to be a very patient person. But oh wells.

Just like in real life, in video games we all have our strengths and our weaknesses. Things we can do, things we cant. While playing DDO the last couple weeks, Ive come to a point, I think, where Ive figured out just what I can and cant do in the game.
What I can do, what I'm good at, is playing melees and ranged support characters. They're a lot easier to get a handle on and a lot of fun to play. I tend to rush straight at the uglies and start beating the crap out of them whenever I see them. I drink heal pots when necessary but sometimes I forget. I can play a Rogue or Artificer and disable traps, find secret doors, unlock locked things, gain sneak attack bonuses or attack from afar with my heavy repeater. All these things Ive found I can do with ease.
What I cant do is play caster support. At all. Ive given wizard and Sorcerer my best shot, really I have. I just cant seem to get the grip on the classes that some(like Shin) seem capable of. I cant play the party healer because I tend to forget that the party exists and only pay attention to my own health. These classes, for me, are just too difficult for me to get a grasp of. To the people who excel at them, congratulations! I dunno how you do it, but you do. For that, all of you deserve a big pat on the back.
That being said, there's still a lot of classes in DDO that I can play. Fighter, Barbarian, Paladin, solo Cleric, Monk(gotta love Monks), Artificer, Ranger, Rogue and melee Druid. The few others not listed are just too much for my little brain.

One thing Ive said before, early on in my blogging, is that, while I play DDO, I am not a D&D player. I don't do the PnP tabletop stuff. All I have to do is look at it to know its not my thing. However, for the people who do enjoy it, that's cool, that's great. What I don't like though is when I tell someone I don't play those things they snap off that I have no right to plat DDO if I don't, among other things. What makes it worse is when enough other people chime in too saying the same things, it makes me feel like actually quitting(something I will never do, don't worry). I have to honestly say, if it wasn't for some of the great people Ive met on DDO, what experiences Ive had with real world D&D players in game, Id be of the assumption that the whole lot of them were complete assholes. I dunno, maybe a lot just wake up on the jerk side of the bed in the morning. But, like I said, Ive met a few good ones. So I hold hope that there are other non jerk ones out there. Somewhere. Maybe...
Put simply, I have every right to play DDO, regardless of my background in what its based off of. I will continue to play DDO with questionable skill. And most importantly, I will continue to be the most uber epic elite player. In my head. So, THERE! :)P

Mizza Recon
Well, recently, I was just SO bored. I was sitting on my bum wondering just what I should do. So I started scanning my console games and started looking for one to play. Decided to pass up playing the ones I play lots and lots and look for one I haven't played in an age. It turns out I haven't played many of my shooters for a while. The one I chose to play was Ghost Recon(Ghost Recon, Island Thunder, Ghost Recon 2, Summit Strike and Advanced Warfighter). Immediately the first thing that came to me was, 'Why haven't I been playing this MORE?'. Its a really fun game and Ive found it hard to put down again.
The other game was Sniper Elite. There's a game I'm glad I bought. Its probably my favorite WWII shooter. Even better than Call of Duty and Medal of Honor. At least for me. Its a pretty good blend of arcade(ish) type play and realism. The arcadeishness comes from being rewarded with "points" for achieving certain types of kills. Then at the end of each level you see your total points earned which includes any minus points earned. So far the best Ive ever earned was a one shot five kill tank kill. It was a total accident but was awesome. The realism comes with making your shots. You have to account for heart rate, breathing, position(standing, kneeling or prone), gravity and wind. you can turn all those off, sure. But you wont net any points at the end of the level! Nope. So, for me, its an amazingly fun game.
Next was Doom 3 and its expansion Resurrection of Evil. I love Doom. Hate the movie. But love the games. I always find myself falling in love with the darkness of it. Yes. I'm one of those people who jumps every time an enemy just pops out from behind a corner. Or teleports in front of me. I always seem to play it at night when I'm tired though, so I suppose its not that surprising that I get a little jumpy. Hehe.
I have plenty of other games as well. Its just that those are on my current rotation until I get bored of them. Which could be a while.
Mizzalings
So, I was playing DDO yesterday. Had an alright day. Started out on my Monk Vampyrica then switched over to my Rogue Jasmene. I had a lot of fun with her until I reached Butchers Path. My fun ceased due to my stupid hireling being, well, stupid. I went in, everything was going fine. There was what I originally thought was a small annoyance turned out to be something that got me killed. Twice. Every time Id stop, he'd stop. When Id start moving again, he wouldn't budge unless I hit the button that makes him return to me. See, when I enter combat, the only thing I think to do is hold the attack button down and smack the enemy to death. Not, 'I gotta call my hireling!'. It was when I got the red named Ogre that my hireling truly failed me. See, Ogres hit hard. real hard. When you're a level two Rogue, its a lot worse. My hireling was standing maybe 6(ish) feet from me. Just standing there. I took three hits and was down. THEN my hire comes over and finishes the Ogre. Didn't matter. I died.
My sister said something recently that rang true to me, 'Nothing brings out my foul mouth quite like a video game.'. It is so true.

A Need To Speak
Something Ive learned is easy to do in life is to just sit back and stay silent. Momentary bursts of noise, but really nothing more. Sometimes though, momentary bursts arent enough and you just need to talk. About anything or everything and to everyone or no one in particular. In my case, Im going to write a blog. I dont honestly know where exactly its going to go but I imagine itll be about as disjointed as most of my blogs are. As a warning, if you are under the age of 18 or have a problem with "foul" language, this is probably not the blog for you. Not saying Ill use any, just that I might. Now, to the blog!
Of Weekend Questing
For the last little while, Ive been questing with Comic on weekends. With the last month(ish) being an exception. Its been a lot of fun and even challenging at certain points. Weve managed to reach a point in the game where I have no expereance in the majority of the quests. Its not that bad though as there have been a couple where he has none either, which makes it all the more fun. Learning a quest solo is fun, but learning it with a friend can be alot funner due to the gooberish mistakes the two(or more) of you make along the way. Like getting yourselves locked in a room with no exit. Oh yeah. That happened.
Along with reaching a point where quests are both new(for me at least) and challenging, its my feeling that weve managed to reach that point where doing quests as a duo with a couple awesomly uber(not!) Cleric hirelings has become almost too much of a challenge. But for the time being, my want is to continue pushing ahead through the content until doing it is just too much. When that point is reached, my wants will shift to going back through the lower level content and collecting minor amounts of XP and a whole ton of favor. Gotta get those inventory bags and bank slots, right? Right!
Of Guilds And Zombies
So, as Ive mentioned in the past, I have a guild of my own on Orien named 'Rise Rebel Resist'. I recently went into the process of replacing one of my characters over there and encountered an interesting thing during character creation. You know how whenever you start a new character and pick the race they will be how they start out with a random look? Well, when I picked Elf, of all things, she looked like a zombie. Seriously! I couldnt make this up! I was just staring at my moniter in disbelief that such an awesome thing could happen to me. This in turn prompted me to make ALL my Orien characters look like such. It was just too awesome to pass up. Of course, I now wish I could rename the guild something more fitting, but I dont want to spend the TP(if thats what it takes) to do it(if it can even be done).

Of Hurt Feelings
As stated above, I have a guild of my own apart from Shins guild on Cannith. I had it started under the idea that during weekdays when my Cannith buddies were busy I could still play elsewhere with my other non Cannith buddies. It seemed fine for a while. At some point last year though someone I considered a friend did something that made me hate DDO for a time, thus prompting my large amount of time spent on LotRO. Im going to explain, the best I can, from my point of veiw, what happened.
As I said, during weekdays, my Cannith buddies are generally busy. This prompted me to find another server for weekday play where I had other DDO buddies. In the end, I settled for Orien. Hitting Twitter, I asked if I had any VIP buddies who would help me make a guild over there(VIPs can make as many guilds as they want for free). Friend A chimes in saying they can and they do, birthing 'Rise Rebel Resist'. For me, the point of the guild was to have some of my daytime, weekday DDO buddies join if they chose and work out times to be on and quest like crazy and have fun. Kinda like the Cannith guild.
After a short time, Friend B joins and fun ensues. It ends up being short lived though. At one point Friend C, who plays on the Orien server primarily, gets friends A & B to join them questing. Theres no problem there. The problem came when friend C persuades Friends A & B to ditch my guild for theirs. Thats exactly what it was too. A fun game of ditch the Mizz. I get it, Im not a great DDO player. I dont have a large guild with a big big ship. I dont know much of the game. I dont farm raids. I dont have any uber elite characters. But I dont think I deserved having someone I thought was a friend persuade other "friends" into completly deserting me. Regardless of how silly it may sound to some, it did hurt.
Its why I left Twitter for a time. I didnt want so lose my cool on these people. When I returned to it, I thought that I could just put it behind me and act like it didnt happen but I realized quickly that, for the time being, I cant. The less I have to do with those three, for the forseeable future, the better.
Of Guns And Government
Put simply, people can be a bunch of pussies when bad things happen. They try to place blame where it doesnt belong and look for ways to get rid of the thing that scares them without realizing that the scary thing isnt the problem. In this case: guns.
I personally own several guns. I know how to maintain them. I can take them apart and put them back together. I know how to handle them. I know how to act when I carry one on me. I am a responsible gun owner who is living in a country whos people and government is trying to punish people like me for owning something "scary".
The idea that stricter gun laws will prevent another Sandy Hook incident is just the stupidest fucking thing concievable. Know why? The people who commit gun crimes are seperatable into two catagories:
1: Criminals. Do you really think tougher gun laws will stop them from getting their hands on guns? Theyre goddamn criminals. If they want a gun, they will find a way to get one and use it regardless of whatever law is put into place. New York, for example, has the toughest gun laws in the US. New York has the highest gun crime rate in the US. Know why? CRIMINALS DONT FOLLOW THE LAW. When the Assault weapon ban was in place, criminals still managed to get their hands on them. Know why? CRIMINALS DONT FOLLOW THE LAW. So, how exactly are we helping prevent criminals from commiting gun crimes? Implementing laws they wont follow? Yeah. Real smart.
2: Crazy people. A person can have a clean bill of mental health. They can have no criminal record. They are almost always the happy, normal, friendly most loving person in the world. Then one day they go out. Get a weapon and use it to bring as much harm to those around them as possible. There are no laws that can be passed that can prevent thsese individuals from getting a gun. They, like criminals, are very determined people who will find their way around the law to get what they want to do what they want.
Dont get me wrong, I get it. What happened at that school was a terrible thing. It was. I feel for all the people, not just there, but everywhere who lose a loved one to a person who just wants to inflict pain and suffering on others. But putting laws in place that will be ineffective against criminals and crazy people is not the proper way to handle it. Last year, more people were killed by a baseball bat, or similarily blunt object, than by guns. What will all you gun law people do about that? Ban people from owning bats as well? Overall, people are more likely to commit a crime with a knife or blunt object than a gun. But you see no people running to make laws for those things, do you?
Put simply, guns dont kill people. People who pull the trigger kill people. They dont go off by magic and kill a bunch of people. They need someone to make the choice to pull the trigger.
Of Two Homes
Throughout my life, Ive only ever lived in one country. In that one country, Ive lived in three states. I was born in Portland Oregon, moved to Vancouver Washington in my teens and recently moved to Anchorage Alaska. Growing up, I had a high sense of pride, I still do. My pride comes, primarily, from two things. My heritage and the country in which I live. At some point, I realized that, in a way, I have not one, but two homes. One home I grew up in and love. The other home Ive never lived in but still feel a connection to.
My family immigrated to America in the 70s(I forget when exactly). Not the entire family, mind you, but some. We immigrated here from the Emrald Isle, Ireland.
My pride in my heritage is more than the simple thing of 'Oh yeah! My family is from Ireland! *wink!*'. Its a mixture of both being proud of where my family is from and what my family has believed strongly in for many generations: Freedom.
My family has fought for freedom. Killed for it. Died for it. The belief that freedom is worth doing those things can be traced through my family for many many generations. Its a thing we need. A thing we crave. When the Gauls stood to fight the Roman Empire, my ancesters were among the earliest to join the fight for freedom from Rome. Later, when the Brits came and invaded Ireland my ancesters were again among the first to fight back. When the Scots rose up in defiance of the British, some of my family went North to join them in the fight. We never stopped fighting. Not once did any of my ancesters stop and think that the fight wasnt worth it. Its in this that I hold alot of pride. Its who I am. Its what I believe.
So, for me, I have two homes. One I hold pride for living in. One I have pride for having been descended from. A home where we are united and free and a home we dream to see united and free of the British.
Hours Of Pride, Moments Of Dissapointment
As stated in the above section, living in America, I have a great love and pride for this country. I always have. I always will.
It hasnt always been easy though. There have been more than enough times where both the people of this country and its government have just made me so utterly disgusted that I wanted to turn my back on it and everything it claimed to stand for. A people who dont know what they want. A government full of hyprocrits who are less interested in helping this country back onto the path of greatness and more interested in trying to fuck over not just the rival party but the people who vote for the rival party.
Sometimes with all that, and more, its easy to lose sight of the things you love most. But then you find that one thing that reminds you of why you loved it so much.
At the end of the day, even after all the moments of dissapointments add up, I am, and always will be, Unapologeticly American.
Ranger Up
I was browsing through YouTube watching funny videos when I came across one titled 'Shit Veterans Don't Say'. Not only was it funny as hell, it was also very true(at least for the veterans I know). I watched through more of the videos posted on their channel and came to love the humor and even truth in each one.
Then I discovered they have a website too! I read through some of the blogs and I immediatly became a fan. Besides the humor in them that I had discovered in the videos there were stories that were inspirational and heartwrenching. I can honestly say they have a fan for life in me.
Besides the blogs and videos, they also have what is quite possibly the most awesome clothing line on the entire planet. I can seriously see myself buying almost every shirt they have. Each has a message on it I believe in with all of my little girly heart. They even have one that I plan on getting for my Brubruh in law!
Also, Nicks kinda cute. But only kinda. ;)
In The End
I had alot to say. Alot more than I had originally planned. If I bored you, I apologize... Okay not really. But we can pretend I meant it. Thats the point. Right? Right. Anyways, this has been another Mizzablog brought to you by me: Mizzaroo.
